Wear eye protection when removing ring gear. Watch hands and fingers when removing
and installing ring gear. Hands and fingers may be pinched or cut. Failure to comply may
result in personnel injury or death.
Support flywheel (Figure 1, Item 1) on wooden wedge just slightly smaller than ring gear (Figure 1, Item 2)
with ring gear facing down.
Note the direction of the chamfer on the ring gear.
Using brass drift and hammer, drive ring gear (Figure 1, Item 2) off flywheel (Figure 1, Item 1), working
around ring gear (Figure 1, Item 2) and being careful not to bind ring gear.

Cleaning compound may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in well-ventilated areas.
Wear protective goggles and clothing. In case sealing compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury.
Using wiping rag and cleaning compound, clean flywheel (Figure 1, Item 1) and ring gear (Figure 1, Item 2).
Do not exceed 40 PSI (280 kPa) when using compressed air for drying components.
Failure to comply may result in serious injury to personnel.
Dry parts using compressed air.
