END OF TASK
INSPECTION
1.
Inspect rocker arm shaft (Figure 1, Item 2) and rocker arm bushings (Figure 1, Item 3) for wear. Replace
damaged parts.
NOTE
The outside diameter of rocker arm shaft should measure between 0.8735 in. (0.186 mm)
minimum and 0.8740 in. (0.199 mm) maximum.
2.
Using outside micrometer, measure outside diameter of rocker arm shaft (Figure 1, Item 2). Replace
defective rocker arm shaft as necessary.
NOTE
The inside diameter of rocker arm bushing should measure between 0.8750 in. (0.225 mm)
minimum and 0.8760 in. (0.250 mm) maximum.
3.
Using an inside micrometer, measure inside diameter of rocker arm bushing (Figure 1, Item 3). Replace
defective rocker arm bushing as necessary.
NOTE
A difference of 0.004 in. (0.101 mm) is allowed between rocker arm shaft and rocker arm
bushing.
4.
Subtract diameter of rocker arm shaft (Figure 1, Item 2) from diameter of rocker arm bushing
(Figure 1, Item 3). Replace defective rocker arm shaft and rocker arm bushings as a set as necessary.
