Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
Apply grease to top of gasket (Figure 1, Item 8).
Install two eye bolts (Figure 1, Item 5) diagonally on top of blower (Figure 1, Item 2) housing.
Attach sling to eye bolts (Figure 1, Item 5).
Handling heavily weighted objects can cause bodily injury. Do not lift materials or
equipment over 50 lb (23 kg) without using appropriate material handling equipment.
Ensure proper lifting techniques are followed when removing or installing heavy
components. Use assistant(s) and/or suitable lifting device when lifting heavy parts of
components. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury, death, and/or damage
Using sling, lift blower (Figure 1, Item 2) assembly at slight angle and position on top of
block (Figure 1, Item 9) with flange of rear end plate cover inside blower seal (Figure 1, Item 12).
Install four long bolts (Figure 1, Item 4) with washers (Figure 1, Item 3) in forward and rear end plates of
blower (Figure 1, Item 2). Tighten bolts finger tight.
Retaining washer beveled end lip is installed in small recess in blower housing just above

Install engine blower shaft and spring assembly (WP 0109).
Using torque wrench and socket set, tighten four long bolts (Figure 1, Item 4) to
480 to 540 in-lb (54.2 to 61 N·m).
Using torque wrench and socket set, tighten six bolts (Figure 1, Item 6) in 60 in-lb (6.78 N·m) increments
uniformly until tightened to 360 to 420 in-lb (41.7 to 47.5 N·m).
Blower shaft should rotate freely. If not, loosen bolts and repeat Steps 7 through 9.
Place blower drive support-to-blower seal (Figure 1, Item 12) and hose clamp (Figure 1, Item 11) in position
and tighten clamp.
