NOTE
This task is typical for both port and starboard engines.
REPAIR
WARNING
Wear eye protection when removing springs from air filter element. Springs are under
pressure and may forcefully release and become airborne. DO NOT position yourself in
front of, or in line with, the springs while removing and installing. Watch hands and fingers
when removing and installing air filter element springs. Hands and fingers may be pinched
or cut. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.

Remove two top retainer springs (Figure 1, Item 3) holding air filter element (Figure 1, Item 2) to air inlet
collector assembly (Figure 1, Item 5).

Remove plate (Figure 1, Item 1) and bottom retainer spring (Figure 1, Item 6) from air inlet collector
assembly (Figure 1, Item 5).
3.
Remove air filter element (Figure 1, Item 2) from air inlet collector assembly (Figure 1, Item 5).
