NOTE
This procedure is typical for the removal and installation of fuel system injector control tube
and lever assembly on both cylinders and on both starboard and port engines.
REMOVAL
1.
Remove cotter pin (Figure 1, Item 4) and clevis pin (Figure 1, Item 3) connecting fuel rod (Figure 1, Item 2)
to injector tube control lever (Figure 1, Item 10). Discard cotter pin.
2.
Remove four bolts (Figure 1, Item 6) and four lockwashers (Figure 1, Item 7) from brackets
(Figure 1, Item 8). Discard lockwashers.
3.
Disengage rack control levers (Figure 1, Item 9) from injector control racks.
4.
Remove injector control tube and lever assembly (Figure 1, Item 5) from cylinder head (Figure 1, Item 1).
END OF TASK
INSTALLATION
1.
Align injector control tube and lever assembly (Figure 1, Item 5) with mounting holes in cylinder head
(Figure 1, Item 1).
2.
Engage rack control levers (Figure 1, Item 9) into injector control racks as injector control tube and lever
assembly (Figure 1, Item 5) is placed on cylinder head (Figure 1, Item 1).
3.
Install four bolts (Figure 1, Item 6) and four new lockwashers (Figure 1, Item 7) in brackets (Figure 1, Item 8)
securing injector control tube and lever assembly (Figure 1, Item 5) on cylinder head (Figure 1, Item 1).
4.
Using torque wrench and socket set, torque bolts (Figure 1, Item 6) to 120 to 144 in-lb (14 to 16 Nm).
5.
Connect fuel rod (Figure 1, Item 2) to injector tube control lever (Figure 1, Item 10) with clevis pin
(Figure 1, Item 3) and new cotter pin (Figure 1, Item 4).
