WARNING
Keep away from hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment. Never
crawl under equipment when performing maintenance unless equipment is
securely blocked. Use suitable lifting devices to move hanging loads and heavy
parts. Equipment may fall. Always use a helper to guide load.
If cracks are visible in cylinder head, do not perform pressure check. Use caution
when pressure checking cylinder head in hot water. Wear protective goggles and
clothing. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
NOTE
Dummy injectors may be made from old injector nuts and bodies. The injector
spray tips are not necessary.
The following steps are typical for each dummy injector.
1.
Install four dummy injectors (Figure 5, Item 1) into cylinder head (Figure 5, Item 5).
2.
Install clamp (Figure 5, Item 4) on each dummy injector (Figure 5, Item 1).
3.
Install bolt (Figure 5, Item 2) with convex washer (Figure 5, Item 3) in clamp (Figure 5, Item 4).
4.
Use torque wrench to tighten bolt (Figure 5, Item 2) to 240 to 300 in-lb (27 to 34 Nm).
