Lift and slide back two insulators (Figure 2, Item 2) and (Figure 2, Item 7) from engine water temperature
sending unit terminals (Figure 2, Item 4).
4.
Remove two screws (Figure 2, Item 5) attaching wires (Figure 2, Items 3 and 6) to engine water temperature
sending unit terminals (Figure 2, Item 4).
5.
Remove two wires (Figure 2, Items 3 and 6) from engine water temperature sending unit terminals
(Figure 2, Item 4).
6.
Place a drain pan under water temperature sending unit (Figure 2, Item 8).
WARNING
Accidental or intentional introduction of liquid contaminants into the environment
may result in a violation of state, federal, and military regulations. Refer to local
environmental office for information concerning storage, use, and disposal of
these liquids. Failure to comply may cause damage to environment and health
of personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of injury.
Fuel/solvent/oil is slippery and may cause falls. Wipe up spillage immediately with
rags. Dispose of materials in accordance with local hazardous waste disposal
procedures. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death and/or
damage to equipment.
7.
Remove engine water temperature sending unit (Figure 2, Item 8) from thermostat housing
(Figure 2, Item 1). Discard sending unit.
8.
Remove drain pan and dispose of contents in accordance with local procedures.
END OF TASK
INSTALLATION
1.
Install new engine water temperature sending unit (Figure 2, Item 8) in thermostat housing
(Figure 2, Item 1).
2.
Position two wires (Figure 2, Items 3 and 6) to engine water temperature sending unit terminals
(Figure 2, Item 4).
3.
Install two screws (Figure 2, Item 5) attaching wires (Figure 2, Items 3 and 6) to engine water temperature
sending unit terminals (Figure 2, Item 4).
4.
Slide two insulators (Figure 2, Item 2) and (Figure 2, Item 7) on engine water temperature sending unit
terminals (Figure 2, Item 4).
