CLEANING
WARNING
Cleaning compound (MIL-PRF-29602) may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in
well-ventilated areas and keep away from heat and open flame. Wear protective goggles
and clothing. In case compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.

Using cleaning compound, clean lube oil pressure relief valve components.
WARNING
Do not exceed 40 PSI (280 kPa) when using compressed air for drying components.
Failure to comply may result in serious injury to personnel.
2.
Using compressed air, dry lube oil pressure relief valve components.
END OF TASK
INSPECTION
1.
Inspect pressure relief valve body (Figure 2, Item 4) for nicks, dents, cracks, and distortion. Replace
defective part.
2.
Check that relief valve (Figure 2, Item 3) moves freely inside of relief valve body (Figure 2, Item 4).
Replace defective part.
3.
Inspect pressure relief valve body (Figure 2, Item 4) for clogged condition. Replace defective part.
4.
Inspect spring (Figure 2, Item 2) for distortion, pitting, breaks or corrosion. Replace defective part.
5.
Inspect spring seat (Figure 2, Item 1) for distortion. Replace defective part.
6.
Inspect spring seat retaining pin (Figure 2, Item 5) for corrosion or distortion. Replace defective part.
