SERVICE UPON RECEIPT OF MATERIEL
WARNING
Keep away from hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment. Never crawl under
equipment when performing maintenance unless equipment is securely blocked. Use
suitable lifting devices to move hanging loads and heavy parts. Equipment may fall. Always
use a helper to guide load. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.

Using lifting device, remove engine from shipping container.
2.
Remove shipping material and tags from engine.
INSPECTION
NOTE
Inspect the equipment for damage incurred during shipment. If the equipment has been
damaged, report the damage on DD Form 361, Transportation Discrepancy Report (TDR).
Check the equipment against the packing slip to see if the shipment is complete. Report all
discrepancies in accordance with applicable service instructions (e.g., for Army
instructions, see DA PAM 750-8). Check to see whether the equipment has been modified.

supervisor.

Check equipment against packing slip to see if shipment is complete. Report all discrepancies to your
maintenance supervisor.
