CLEANING AND FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM
WARNING
Cleaning compound (MIL-PRF-29602) may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in
well-ventilated areas and keep away from heat and open flame. Wear protective goggles
and clothing. In case compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
1.
Prepare a solution of engine cooling system cleaner in accordance with kit instructions.
2.
Remove engine thermostats and install thermostat covers (WP 0139).
3.
Fill cooling system with engine cooling system cleaning solution, through heat exchanger fill neck
(Figure 2, Item 10), until solution level is 1 in. (2.5 cm) below fill neck (Figure 2, Item 10).
4.
Install pressure control cap (Figure 2, Item 1) by pressing down and rotating clockwise.
