ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - Continued
Overspeed Governor
The overspeed governor consists of four major components: the electronic speed switch, the air shutdown
The electronic speed switch controls the system by receiving a signal from the speed signal generator. If an
overspeed condition is detected (2300 RPM or above), it will direct current to the air shutdown solenoid. This will
close the air flapper which will shut down engine operation. The electronic speed switch will then have to be
manually reset before the engine may be restarted.
