TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
EXCESSIVE READING ON OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
SYMPTOM
Diesel engine has excessive crankcase pressure.
MALFUNCTION
Cylinder head gasket leaking.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Check cylinder compression. Contact Maintenance Supervisor.
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
3.
If only one cylinder has low compression, remove the cylinder head and replace the head
gaskets. Contact Maintenance Supervisor.
4.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
Cylinder blow-by, piston, or liner damaged.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Inspect piston and liner. Replace damaged parts. Contact Maintenance Supervisor.
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
