NOTE
The following procedure is typical for both port and starboard engines.
Check oil pressure with the engine warmed up and a minimum water outlet
temperature of 160F (71C).
TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
LOW READING ON OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
SYMPTOM
Diesel engine has low oil pressure.
MALFUNCTION
Engine oil low.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Check oil and bring to proper level on the dipstick (WP 0115).
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
Improper oil viscosity.
