INSPECTION
1.
Inspect ring gear (Figure 1, Item 2) for cracks or excessive wear. Replace defective part.
2.
Inspect butt end of crankshaft and flywheel (Figure 1, Item 1) contact surfaces for fretting or brinelling.
Replace defective part.
3.
Inspect bolt holes in flywheel (Figure 1, Item 1) to ensure they are not out of round or damaged. Replace
defective part.
