WARNING
Sealing compound may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in well-ventilated area.
Wear protective goggles and clothing. In case sealing compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury.
CAUTION
Do not allow grease to get between the flywheel and the crankshaft. Maximum friction
is required. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
3.
Coat 10 flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) with antiseize compound.
4.
Using wiping rag, wipe excess antiseize compound from 10 flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3).
5.
Install scuff plate (Figure 1, Item 2) on crankshaft (Figure 1, Item 1).
6.
Install 10 flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) into crankshaft (Figure 1, Item 1).
7.
Remove two flywheel housing alignment studs (Figure 1, Item 5).
8.
Coat two flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) with antiseize compound.
9.
Using wiping rag, wipe excess antiseize compound from two flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3).
10.
Install remaining two flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) in crankshaft (Figure 1, Item 4).
11.
Using torque wrench and socket set, torque flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) to 50 ft-lb (68 Nm).
12.
Turn flywheel bolts (Figure 1, Item 3) an additional 90 to 120 degrees to obtain the proper clamping.
