SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER - Continued
SYMPTOM
Power from diesel engine is lost and heavy black smoke is coming from exhaust plenum.
MALFUNCTION
The air inlet is blocked.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Remove the blockage from air inlet (WP 0105).
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
The fuel return line shutoff valve is not open.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Open return line fuel valve (TM 55-1925-205-10).
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
The air inlet collector air restriction indicator red band is visible.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Repair air inlet collector assembly (WP 0105).
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
