ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT WILL NOT START - Continued
MALFUNCTION
Fuel pump relief valve sticks open or partially open.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Repair fuel pump. Contact Maintenance Supervisor.
2.
Perform operational check of the diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
Worn, damaged, corroded or dirty injectors.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Perform injector cut out test (WP 0023).
2.
Perform operational check of the diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
Engine not getting enough air.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Check air inlet collector air restriction indicators. If red button is visible, repair air inlet collector
assembly (WP 0105).
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
3.
Check that air flapper valve is open. If air flapper valve is closed, reset overspeed governor
(TM 55-1925-205-10).
4.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
5.
If air flapper remains closed, replace auto shutdown emergency stop solenoid (WP 0170).
6.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
MALFUNCTION
Blower not functioning.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Check for broken driveshaft and replace as necessary. Contact Maintenance Supervisor.
2.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
3.
Check blower for damage, repair blower as necessary. Contact Maintenance Supervisor.
4.
Perform operational check of diesel engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
