Position drain pan beneath filter cartridge (Figure 2, Item 2).
WARNING
Hazardous fumes may be present. Wear protective clothing and goggles while handling.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
CAUTION
Ensure that filter gasket comes off with fuel filter. Double gasketing will cause massive fuel
leaks at the filter. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
4.
Remove the fuel filter cartridge (Figure 2, Item 2) from the filter adapter (Figure 2, Item 1) by turning
counterclockwise with a filter wrench.
5.
Clean inside the filter adapter (Figure 2, Item 1) to remove any debris using cleaning cloth.
6.
Remove drain pan and dispose of contents in accordance with local procedures.
7.
Discard fuel filter cartridge (Figure 2, Item 2) and contaminated cloth and dispose of in accordance with local
procedures.

END OF TASK
INSTALLATION
1.
Apply thin coat of diesel fuel on fuel filter (Figure 2, Item 2) gasket.
2.
Install the new fuel filter cartridge (Figure 2, Item 2) on filter adapter (Figure 2, Item 1) by turning clockwise
by hand until snug.
3.
Tighten fuel filter cartridge (Figure 2, Item 2) 1/4 additional turn with a strap wrench.
4.
Prime fuel system (WP 0078).
