NOTE
This procedure is typical for both port and starboard fuel system injector rack assemblies
and both port and starboard engines.
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Loosen four locknuts (Figure 1, Item 7) and adjusting screws (Figure 1, Item 8) at each rack control lever
(Figure 1, Item 5).
2.
Disconnect left-hand yield spring (Figure 1, Item 9) and three right-hand yield springs (Figure 1, Item 6) at
each rack control lever (Figure 1, Item 5).
3.
Roll yield springs (Figure 1, Items 6 and 9) out of slots of injector control tube (Figure 1, Item 4).
4.
Disconnect return spring (Figure 1, Item 3) from stationary bracket (Figure 1, Item 2) and injector tube
control lever (Figure 1, Item 1).
5.
Remove stationary bracket (Figure 1, Item 2) from control tube (Figure 1, Item 4).
6.
Remove yield springs (Figure 1, Items 6 and 9), return spring (Figure 1, Item 3), and rack control levers
(Figure 1, Item 5) from control tube (Figure 1, Item 4).

CLEANING
WARNING
Cleaning compound (MIL-PRF-29602) may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in
well-ventilated areas and keep away from heat and open flame. Wear protective goggles
and clothing. In case compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
1.
Clean all components of the injector control tube assembly with cleaner.
WARNING
Do not exceed 40 PSI (280 kPa) when using compressed air for drying components.
Failure to comply may result in serious injury to personnel.
2.
Using compressed air, dry all components of injector control tube assembly thoroughly.
