LUBE OIL PAN REPLACEMENT
Using cleaner, clean new oil pan (Figure 2, Item 2).

REMOVAL
1.
With engine inverted on engine stand, remove 24 bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) and lockwashers (Figure 1, Item 2)
securing oil pan (Figure 1, Item 3) to engine block (Figure 1, Item 6). Discard lockwashers.
2.
Remove oil pan (Figure 1, Item 3) from engine block (Figure 1, Item 6).
3.
Remove drain plug (Figure 1, Item 4) from oil pan (Figure 1, Item 3) and set aside for re-installation.
4.
Discard oil pan (Figure 1, Item 3).
5.
Remove old gasket (Figure 1, Item 5) and discard.
6.
Using scraper, clean old gasket material from cylinder block (Figure 1, Item 6).

INSTALLATION
WARNING
Cleaning compound (MIL-PRF-29602) may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in
well-ventilated areas and keep away from heat and open flame. Wear protective goggles
and clothing. In case compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
