WARNING
Personnel hearing can be permanently damaged if exposed to constant high noise
levels of 85 dB or greater. Wear approved hearing protection devices when
working in high noise level areas. Personnel exposed to high noise levels shall
participate in a hearing conservation program in accordance with DA PAM 40-501.
Hearing loss occurs gradually but becomes permanent over time.
Operators must wear double hearing protection (earplugs worn in combination with
noise muffs) if inside the engine compartment for more than 40 minutes per day
while the engine is running.
All personnel on the deck of the warping tug must wear Army-approved hearing
protection devices during operations when the engine is operating at 1200 RPM
and above. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury.

Start engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).

After engine reaches normal operating temperature, run engine for 5 minutes.

Shut down engine (TM 55-1925-205-10).
WARNING
Do not remove pressure control cap from heat exchanger or attempt to drain the solution
until engine has cooled. Sudden release of pressure can result in loss of solution. Failure
to comply may result in personnel injury or death.

Top off cooling system.

Clean up spilled fluid with spill clean-up kit and dispose of spill clean-up kit waste in accordance with local
procedure.
