OVERSPEED PROTECTION SET POINT VERIFICATION
1.
Determine desired set point frequency.
NOTE
Maximum engine RPM is 2100. To determine maximum engine set point, add
approximately 10 percent, or 200 RPM. This will shut engine down at 2300
RPM.
Mini generator's RPM is twice engine RPM.

Determine mini generator's RPM at engine RPM set point.

Connect temporary jumper wire (Figure 6, Item 1) between terminals 2 and 5.

Convert the frequency set point to RPM by multiplying by 0.67 which will provide the test set point in RPMs.
WARNING
Remove all jewelry before conducting maintenance. Do not wear watches, rings,
identification tags, or other jewelry which could short across electrical components or catch
on vehicle components. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
4.
Apply power to speed switch.
5.
Connect DC voltmeter between terminals 2 and 6.

Connect common lead of voltmeter to terminal 2.
b.
Connect positive lead of voltmeter to terminal 6.
