WARNING
Keep away from hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment. Never crawl under
equipment when performing maintenance unless equipment is securely blocked. Use
suitable lifting devices to move hanging loads and heavy parts. Equipment may fall. Always
use a helper to guide load. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.

Using crane (Figure 16, Item 2), chain hoist (Figure 16, Item 1), and three slings (Figure 16, Item 3) on
engine, and a sling (Figure 16, Item 5) on marine gear (Figure 16, item 4), remove engine with attached
marine gear (Figure 16, item 4) from propulsion module.

Place engine with marine gear (Figure 16, Item 4) on wooden blocks or suitable engine stand to facilitate
equipment separation.
38.
Secure all marine gear (Figure 16, Item 4) and engine mounting shims (Figure 15, Item 3) to their
associated mount locations with twine.

Remove marine gear (Figure 16, Item 4) from rear of engine as follows:
