WARNING
Keep away from hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment. Never crawl under
equipment when performing maintenance unless equipment is securely blocked. Use
suitable lifting devices to move hanging loads and heavy parts. Equipment may fall. Always
use a helper to guide load. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.

Attach crane to lifting fixture (Figure 2, Item 2). Lift cylinder head (Figure 7, Item 7) into water tank heated to
180 to 200F (82 to 93C).

Observe water tank for 20 minutes watching for bubbles indicating a leak or crack.

If leak is observed, use crane attached to lifting fixture (Figure 2, Item 2) and remove cylinder head
(Figure 7, Item 7) from water tank and check test fixture (Figure 7, Item 5) for proper seating.

If test fixture is seated properly, use crane attached to lifting fixture (Figure 2, Item 2) and return cylinder
head (Figure 7, Item 7) to water tank and observe for bubbles. If bubbles are observed, replace cylinder
head.

Remove cylinder head (Figure 7, Item 7) from water tank using lifting fixture (Figure 2, Item 2).

Disconnect air supply hose with dial gauge (Figure 7, Item 9) from air supply plate (Figure 7, Item 8).
25.
Remove four bolts (Figure 7, Item 10) and washers (Figure 7, Item 11) from air supply plate
(Figure 7, Item 8).

Remove air supply plate (Figure 7, Item 8) from cylinder head (Figure 7, Item 7).
27.
Remove four nuts (Figure 7, Item 12), bolts (Figure 7, Item 1), and washers (Figure 7, Item 2) from test
fixture (Figure 7, Item 5).
28.
Remove six holddown bolts (Figure 7, Item 3) and washers (Figure 7, Item 4) from test fixture
(Figure 7, Item 5).
29.
Remove test fixture (Figure 7, Item 5) from cylinder head (Figure 7, Item 7).
