DISASSEMBLY
NOTE
Make note of the position of springs and valve assembly before removing housing.
1.
Remove bolt (Figure 4, Item 3), washer (Figure 4, Item 4), bushing (Figure 4, Item 5), latch
(Figure 4, Item 2), and spring (Figure 4, Item 6) from air intake housing (Figure 4, Item 1).
2.
Turn air intake housing (Figure 4, Item 1) over to expose valve assembly (Figure 4, Item 13).
3.
Remove four pins (Figure 4, Item 7) attaching each valve assembly (Figure 4, Item 13) to shaft
(Figure 4, Item 14).
4.
Remove two springs (Figure 4, Item 12) and valve assemblies (Figure 4, Item 13) from air intake housing
(Figure 4, Item 1).
5.
Remove shaft (Figure 4, Item 14) from air intake housing (Figure 4, Item 1).
6.
Remove retaining pin (Figure 4, Item 9) and handle (Figure 4, Item 10) from cam (Figure 4, Item 8).
7.
Remove cam (Figure 4, Item 8) from shaft (Figure 4, Item 14).
8.
Remove ring seals (Figure 4, Items 11 and 16) from shaft (Figure 4, Item 14).
9.
Remove washer (Figure 4, Item 15) from the air intake housing (Figure 4, Item 1).

CLEANING AND INSPECTION
WARNING
Do not exceed 40 PSI (280 kPa) when using compressed air for drying components.
Failure to comply may result in serious injury to personnel.
WARNING
Cleaning compound (MIL-PRF-29602) may cause irritation to the eyes or skin. Use in
well-ventilated areas and keep away from heat and open flame. Wear protective goggles
and clothing. In case compound comes in contact with:
Eyes, flush immediately with water.
Skin, wash with soap and water.
Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
1.
Using type II cleaner, clean all parts of dirt and grease.
2.
Dry parts with compressed air of not more than 40 PSI (280 kPa).
3.
Inspect valve (Figure 4, Item 13) for wear, cracks or distortion. Replace damaged parts.
