Remove four bolts (Figure 1, Item 2) and lockwashers (Figure 1, Item 3).
13.
Remove two cover plates (Figure 1, Item 4) and gaskets (Figure 1, Item 5) from front of cylinder head
(Figure 1, Item 1). Discard gaskets.

CLEANING
WARNING
Flying particles and debris are present. Wear protective goggles. Failure to comply may
result in personnel injury or death.
1.
Remove all remaining gasket material from cylinder head (Figure 2, Item 1) using scraper.
2.
Position lifting fixture (Figure 2, Item 2) on exhaust manifold studs (Figure 2, Item 5).
3.
Install three washers (Figure 2, Item 4) and nuts (Figure 2, Item 3) on exhaust manifold studs
(Figure 2, Item 5). Tighten nuts.
WARNING
Keep away from hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment. Never crawl under
equipment when performing maintenance unless equipment is securely blocked. Use
suitable lifting devices to move hanging loads and heavy parts. Equipment may fall. Always
use a helper to guide load. Failure to comply may result in personnel injury or death.
4.
Attach crane to lifting fixture (Figure 2, Item 2). Lift cylinder head (Figure 2, Item 1) into degreaser tank.
